COVID-19 Information

We know it’s essential to keep your mobility going with the current pandemic that’s affecting the world.

At Modern Mobility we know it’s important to look after our clients for their mobility needs and we will ensure we take every precaution possible to protect our clients.

Whether it’s a new stairlift or a repair service, we are operating with the highest safety measures possible to ensure our clients are protected.

We’ve broken down our processes into categories so our customers know how we are protecting them.

UPDATE 29/03/2020: Due to the latest government measures and to protect our customers during this virus outbreak, all of our services (Quotes, Installations & Repairs) are limited to “Essential / Emergency Only”.

This is to ensure that our customers and staff are protected, by only calling out when it’s really necessary. Non urgent or non essential works will be postponed until the near future.

Quotations

All quotes where possible will be carried out over the phone, email or WhatsApp on 087 737 9265. Where this isn’t possible, then we will go out to the house to quote in person.

The following procedures will be in place:

  • We will phone when we are outside so the customer knows we have arrived so as to avoid close contact at the door.
  • Customer to ensure the room is clear so we can carry out our quotation, only when absolutely necessary someone should be in the same room.
  • We will wash our hands prior to coming into your home, during the visit we will be wearing a mask and gloves and adhering to social distance guidelines.
  • When we finish the quotation and leaving the house, we will ensure anything we’ve touched eg; banisters, door handles are cleaned.

Installation Of New Stairlifts:

When we are installing a stairlift we ask that the customer and anyone in the house remains away from the area of installation whilst we are working. When this is not possible then we will ask that the visits to this specific area are kept to a minimum.

The following installation procedures will be in place:

  • We will phone when we are outside so the customer knows we have arrived so as to avoid close contact at the door.
  • Customer to ensure the room is clear of people for the duration of the installation works.
  • We will wash our hands prior to coming into your home, during the visit we will be wearing a mask and gloves and adhering to social distance guidelines.
  • When the stairlift is installed, we will disinfect the following (not limited to):
    • Full disinfection of the stairlift
    • Disinfection of handrails, door handles, banisters etc.
  • During the demonstration of the product, we will wear a face mask and gloves. Some clients might be nervous seeing this so we are also happy to demonstrate the product to another family member when the needs arise.

Repair Of Mobility Equipment

Depending on the mobility equipment that needs repairing, we may work in different environments to keep the risks of virus spread low.

Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs should be fixed outside the property where possible, whereas other products like Stairlifts cannot be fixed outside, we will adhere to the following guidelines.

General Repair Guidelines:

  • We will phone when we are outside so the customer knows we have arrived so as to avoid close contact at the door.
  • Customer to ensure the room is clear of people for the duration of the repair works.
  • We will wash our hands prior to coming into your home, during the visit we will be wearing a mask and gloves and adhering to social distance guidelines.
  • When the product is repaired, we will disinfect the following (not limited to):
    • Full disinfection of the mobility product
    • Disinfection of handrails, door handles, banisters etc.
