COVID-19 Information

We’re resuming full operations as of Monday, 22/06/2020.

At Modern Mobility, we’ve been carrying out essential services throughout this pandemic, albeit with us mainly covering urgent or essential works only.

From Monday 22nd of June 2020, we will be resuming normal operations with the addition of all the safety measures we have used throughout the pandemic.

Whether it’s a new stairlift or a repair service, we are operating with the highest safety measures possible to ensure our clients are protected.

We’ve broken down our processes into categories below.

Quotations (Stairlifts)

We are resuming normal quote procedures from 22/06/2020 for all stairlift installations. However, please ensure you are aware of our procedures below on all quotes, this is to ensure the protection of everybody during this pandemic.

The following home visit quotation procedures will be in place:

  • We will be wearing a mask and gloves for all quotations with regular hand cleaning both before and after a quote.
  • Both ourselves and the customer need to adhere to social distance guidelines during the home visit.
  • Ideally where possible we would advise that the area where we are quoting is kept clear for the duration of the visit.

We also want to mention, that when it comes to quotes – we are more than willing to provide ball park prices prior to calling out. You’re also welcome to WhatsApp us a few pictures (087 341 9711) and get a roundabout price before someone calls to your home. We’re happy to both quote over the phone where possible and by person, ensuring it’s suitable for everyone.

Installation Of New Stairlifts:

When we are installing a stairlift we ask that the customer and anyone in the house remains away from the area of installation whilst we are working. When this is not possible then we will ask that the visits to this specific area are kept to a minimum. Once again, this is to ensure the protection of everybody.

The following installation procedures will be in place:

  • Ideally where possible we would advise that the area where we are carrying out the installation is kept clear for the duration of the visit.
  • We will wash our hands prior to coming into your home, during the installation we will be wearing a mask and gloves (when practical) and adhering to social distance guidelines.
  • When the stairlift is installed, we will disinfect the following (not limited to):
    • Full disinfection of the stairlift and accessories (remotes, charger etc)
    • Disinfection of handrails, door handles, banisters etc.
  • During the demonstration of the product, we will still be wearing a face mask and gloves. Some clients might be nervous seeing this so we are also happy to demonstrate the product to another family member when the needs arise.

Repair Of Mobility Equipment

Depending on the mobility equipment that needs repairing, we may work in different environments to keep the risks of virus spread low.

Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs should be fixed outside the property where possible, whereas other products like Stairlifts cannot be fixed outside, we will adhere to the following guidelines.

General Repair Guidelines:

  • Both ourselves and the customer need to adhere to social distance guidelines during the repair process.
  • Ideally where possible we would advise that the area where we are carrying out the repair is kept clear for the duration of the visit.
  • On repairs being carried out indoors we will be wearing a mask and gloves, unless there’s a reason not to in certain circumstances.
    • Circumstances include but not limited to
      • Situations where we are having to work in a tight space and the mask can impede on the repair
      • Cases where we are carrying out repairs involving heavy duty parts, like large batteries, motors etc
  • On repairs being carried out outdoors, once social distancing guidelines are adhered to we may sometimes not wear a mask. However, if this happens we will carry out a disinfection of the product prior to leaving.

Notes:

We would like to state that whilst things are returning back to some level of normality, we want to ensure our company is carrying out all the best practices indefinitely unless advised otherwise by the government.
